4th grade participated in My America which is a national youth-driven project commemorating America’s 250th anniversary. Students designed fabric tiles which will be combined with thousands of tiles from across the country to create a massive American flag mosaic. The flag will be revealed in December in Boston, Massachusetts!
Clegern Elementary and the Edmond Early Childhood Center "Pup School" are so excited to announce our 26-27 Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Christa Cowan is a fabulous PreK teacher at Pup School. Many of our Clegern Cougars have had the wonderful experience of having Mrs. Cowan as their PreK teacher! Mrs. Cowan is an amazing example of how to implement Conscious Discipline in all areas of her teaching. She is also masterful at teaching through play. We are so proud to have her represent our sweet schools!
Today we celebrated all of our Summer Readers with fun, games, and prizes, because we know - readers are leaders! Thank you to all our wonderful parent volunteers who helped make this event happen.
This past Friday, Mrs. Bo's fourth grade science teams designed and created capsules to protect their egg, dropped from about 5 feet. If it survived that drop, it went on to a higher drop. Our fourth graders experienced elation and disappointment, but most of all, they had fun!

Families can continue to enroll online at any time by visiting edmondschools.net/enroll. Enrollment applications will begin processing during Central Enrollment or when school registrars return on August 1.

Look who's all grown up! Clegern's 5th grade class of 2019 came back today for senior assembly. It was amazing to see how they've grown into such fine young adults with big plans to change the world!
The students and staff were treated to a preview of tonight's Frog and Toad play given by second grade. Come see it tonight and you'll leave a hoppy camper!
One of our favorite annual events, the 5th Grade Living History Museum was today. Famous faces lined the halls and filled the cafeteria, imparting wisdom for a mere penny!
Congratulations to Ms. Mary, our recess monitor, who told our students about her run at the Tokyo Marathon. Ms. Mary, you are an inspiration to us all!

Today at our Lunar New Year Assembly we enjoyed a performance of a Lion Dance by a troupe of dancers and musicians with the Asian District Cultural Association. The kids were encouraged and excited to pet the lions as they danced through the assembly.
This week was packed with amazing activities, like our visit from author Kristin O'Donnell Tubb, 4 time nominee and two time winner of the Oklahoma Children's Sequoyah book award. Her presentation was very interactive, and our students rose to the occasion when she asked them to imagine the most ridiculous story elements they could. If she ever writes about PickleBob, the Cyclops that wants to eat a banana, she got the idea here first!
Yee Haw! Miss Rodeo USA visited Clegern today and encouraged our students to believe in their dreams. Thank you for visiting us!!
We just got back to school, but we are breaking out!! Students had fun working on breaking their library cards out of locked boxes by reviewing their library procedures.
Our cafeteria manager, Vickie Lewis, was named Clegern's Support Employee of the Year on Friday. Thank you for all you do to take care of our Clegern Family!
