Dear Cougar Parent: 

Hello from the Media Center!  This is Mrs. Foster and I want to invite you and your student to be part of Clegern’s  lunch-time book clubs for third through fifth grades.  

The  expectation would be for your child (and you, if you are a group leader) to read a specific book per quarter.  On a specified date for each book, your child should plan to bring a lunch and be prepared to discuss the book in a small group, led by a parent volunteer during their lunch period.  (Bringing lunch from home is not required, but will maximize discussion time.) Each parent volunteer receives a list of possible book discussion questions from me, but should feel free to lead the discussion in a way that best suits their group.  

The books for each grade level can be purchased at your preferred book vendor, or you may order them through us using the forms linked below.  The deadline to order books from us has passed. Please purchase or borrow the books from wherever you prefer. Thriftbooks.com is a great site for inexpensive, used books. 

Ideally, each group would have no more than six to eight students to ensure that each student has an opportunity to contribute, so we need many parent volunteers per grade to help lead the discussion groups.  We depend on our parent volunteers, so please mark your calendars and look forward to this special time with your child. If you and/or your student are interested in participating, please fill out the slip below and return to the Media Center.
