Mrs. Teri Cowden-Draper began her teaching career in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, in 1991, after obtaining her undergraduate degree in Family Relations and Child Development at Oklahoma State University and becoming certified in Early Childhood Education. She became Nationally Board Certified in Early Childhood in 2000 and received her Masters of Science in Teaching, Learning and Leadership from Oklahoma State University in 2002. She taught kindergarten for 14 years in Sapulpa before moving to Edmond in 2005 where she taught 2nd grade at John Ross Elementary. In 2006 she moved to an assistant principal position at Northern Hills Elementary and she stayed there until she was named the principal at Clegern Elementary and Clyde Howell Early Childhood Center in the spring of 2013.

Mrs. Cowden-Draper is a native of Guthrie, OK and has been married to Darin Draper since 2002. They have one son, Charlie, and are the foster parents to an adorable little girl. Her favorite activities are spending time watching her son play sports, having tea parties with her foster daughter and spending time outside with her family. She is an avid OSU fan and loves to cheer on the OKC Thunder. She feels extremely lucky to be the principal of two outstanding schools because of the caliber of teachers she gets to work with, the amazing students she gets to interact with, and parents she gets to meet with every day.
