Mrs. Christy Holloway has been teaching her whole life…she is the oldest of four and has been playing “school” since she was old enough to talk! Seriously, she believes with all of her heart and soul that teaching is her purpose here on earth! But actually, she states she learns way more from her students than they do from her. Her bachelor’s degree is in Business and English; after having her own children, she pursued and Early Childhood degree because she wanted to teach Kindergarten. She started teaching in Edmond in 1991, teaching kindergarten for five years and then moved to first grade, coming to Clegern in 1999! She earned her National Board Certification in 2008. Mrs. Holloway received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at UCO. She feels a strong desire to pay it forward by facilitating the UCO Math and Reading Buddies here at Clegern. She received the Outstanding Community Partner Award in 2013 for this service. Mrs. Holloway has been to two Core Knowledge Conferences, presenting a math unit in Philadelphia. She continually strives to learn strategies to enhance her classroom community and academic performance (Daily 5 and Conscious Discipline). Mrs. Holloway lives to love/serve her family. Her son is Brett Holloway who married to Callie whom she calls her daughter-in-love and her daughter is Stacy who is married to Mike (her son-in-love) and they have two darling sons named Cache and Crew with another boy, Cort, on the way! She has been married to Buz for 35 years. They have a cabin at Lake Tenkiller where they spend most of their summer and weekends during the school year. Mrs. Holloway likes to paddleboard and play with her grandsons in the water! She considers Clegern her second home where the staff and families there are her family, too!
