On a Friday night in Edmond, Oklahoma, the sound of 50’s music was booming at Clegern Elementary at its 1st Sock Hop! Children and families were dressed in full 50’s gear to celebrate raising necessary funds for the school. Students have spent several weeks gathering donations from family and friends to make Clegern an even better place. This year, the PTA is hoping to purchase and install some new playground equipment along with the ongoing support of its teachers and staff.
“We are so grateful for our PTA board and all of the amazing parents at Clegern who support us so well,” said Teri Cowden-Draper, principal. “The Sock Hop is something our students will always remember. I want them to be children and enjoy their elementary years well so the money we raise will only make it even better,” she said.
Even though the Sock Hop has passed, giving online is available year round! A special thanks to Laura Roach, fundraising coordinator, and the PTA Board and Committees who made the Sock Hop a huge success!
